Jaz Zuniga (Jacqueline Alissa Zuniga) is a contemporary artist, designer, art dealer, collection specialist, and art historian based in Los Angeles, California. With more than 14 years of experience across the art industry, Zuniga has cultivated a multidisciplinary practice that bridges fine art, art scholarship, curatorial work, and international art commerce. She holds dual degrees from the University of California, Santa Cruz, and has pursued independent work-study at the University of Cambridge in the United Kingdom.

A Los Angeles native, Zuniga’s fine-art practice is centered on the silhouette as both a visual language and a conceptual device. Through layered imagery and symbolic forms, she explores ideas of global exchange, cross-cultural interaction, identity, and the ways visual narratives travel across communities and generations. Her work occasionally incorporates Mesoamerican motifs and imagery, drawing attention to Indigenous histories, symbolism, and cultural memory. Rather than prescribing a singular interpretation, Zuniga invites viewers to engage deeply with her compositions and develop their own conversations with the imagery.

Zuniga’s professional career in the arts began at Bergamot Station in Santa Monica, where she developed her commercial art practice while simultaneously exhibiting her artistic oeuvre in galleries. Her creative work has also extended into scenic and production design, with projects presented at numerous venues, including the historic Rita Hayworth Theater in Los Angeles.

Her career later expanded internationally through several years of working in art sales and education aboard traveling cruise ships, where she operated across more than 50 countries. During this period, she conducted art auctions, delivered art lectures, and engaged with collectors and prospective art buyers from around the world. These experiences broadened her understanding of the international art market while deepening her commitment to making art accessible through education, dialogue, and direct engagement.

After returning to the United States, Zuniga continued to work across the country, facilitating traveling art auctions and building relationships with collectors, artists, galleries, and other stakeholders throughout the American art community. Her artwork is in private collections and has been exhibited California, Florida, and Italy, and she continues to develop independent and collaborative exhibitions both throughout the United States and abroad.

At the heart of Zuniga’s practice is a belief in art’s ability to create moments of beauty, reflection, and connection. Through her work as an artist, educator, dealer, and curator, she seeks to create what she describes as a small oasis of beauty within an often-confusing world—one that encourages curiosity, cultural dialogue, and a deeper appreciation for the visual language of art.
